Writers use many elements such as rhythm, sound, imagery, and form to create poems. Rhythm is the flow of the beat in a poem, giving it a musical feel. It can be fast or slow depending on the mood and subject of the poem. Rhythm can be measured in meter by counting the beats in each line.
