INTRODUCTION

         William Somerset Maugham emanated a family of advocates. His grandfather, Robert Maugham (1788–1862), was a important solicitor and co-founder of the Law Society of England and Wales. Maugham's father, Robert Ormond Maugham (1823–1884), was a thriving solicitor, located in Paris his partner, Edith Mary, née Snell, lived most of her life in France, place all the couple's infants were born.Robert Maugham controlled the legal events of the British Embassy there, as welcome eldest extant son, Charles, later acted.The second son, Frederic, enhanced a barrister, and had a famous legal course in Britain – The Times described him as "a excellent legal figure" – serve as a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary (1935–1938) and Lord Chancellor (1938–1939). The two younger sons enhanced writers: Henry (1868−1904) printed poetry, essays and travel books.

The aim of my course paper is cover about life of Somerset Maugham. William Somerset Maugham was an English journalist, known for welcome plays, novels and short stories. Born in Paris, place he spent welcome first ten years, Maugham was disciplined in England and went to a German academy. He became a healing student in London and able as a physician in 1897. He never practised cure, and enhanced a full-period writer. His first novel, Liza of Lambeth (1897), a study of history in the slums, brought attention, but it was as a scenarist that he first achieved public celebrity. By 1908 he had four plays running immediately in the West End of London. He wrote welcome 32nd and last play in 1933, after that he abandoned the theater and concentrated on novels and tales.
