Google initially started as an online search firm but has now expanded to offer over 50 internet services and products, including e-mail, online document creation, software for mobile phones and tablet computers. The acquisition of Motorola Mobility in 2012 allowed Google to sell hardware in the form of mobile phones. Despite its diverse product portfolio, Google's original search tool remains at the core of its success.
